I visited Kinsale Dental for the first time because I was having some discomfort in one of my teeth, and they saw me as soon as I arrived, even though I wasn’t a registered patient.

The reception staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the dentist who saw me explained everything very clearly. She even showed me the X\-ray they took and talked me through the diagnosis in detail.

I was very happy with the care I received and will definitely be going back. Highly recommended!

It was my third visit to Kinsale Dental and my experience was very positive. The offices are very clean, modern and well kept.The staff were attentive and I was seen at my appointment. My dental hygienist, Niamh, provided a wonderful cleaning. I was very happy with the dental care that I received and I would not hesitate to refer others.

Issues with scheduling and challenges in communication
The issue I have is not with the treatment, but with the logistics of how the practice is run. We registered with orthodontist Siobhan MacMorrow. 
Siobhan works 1 day, maybe 2 days per week. That's fantastic from a work-life balance perspective and good for Siobhan, but it adds incredible amount of friction if you're the patient trying to get an appointment between the limited number of days you add on top of that various vacation breaks, etc.). It's extremely difficult. 
Again, no issue with the person, but just the system is not conducive. It's not client-centric; it's most definitely dentist-centric. 
When we finally did get an appointment, the next step was to get referred to one of the dentists for an extraction. That never got handled. The person who handles that was out for extended periods at the start of the year due to being back in Australia, which I understand for family reasons. Despite sending multiple emails, they just went unanswered, and I called three or four times. Eventually, you just begin to give up. 
And eventually, we did just move practice, but that was after spending 24 months trying to get Katie's braces fitted. It just seemed like a Kafkaesque plot where we would never get there! 
Now I'm trying to get the X-rays transferred, and again, no response at all to the emails. It's not my place to tell them how to run their business, but as a client who was prepared to spend several thousand euros with the practice (and had already spent quite a lot with the practice), I can't say I would recommend this from a service perspective. 
The one thing they were efficient about was taking payments, often with deposits in advance.

Needed an emergency appointment after I had broken a wisdom tooth. They got me in same day to see Dr Eion and he took great care of me. Great experience, great staff, and a great result.
